Charles Robertson Grant Deed - 19 March 1775

Watauga Purchase, by Charles Robertson for £2000, 'Great Britain money' from the Cherokee Tribe.


A formal request, with 175 signers, to be recognized by the Virginia Colony as a separate governing body, the county of North Carolina. This request was ignored, and an additional request was sent one year later with 466 signeurs, this request also was ignored.


The date stamped received, 22 August 1776, never acknowledged


A Donaldson survey in 1772, defined lines of the county.
