This dog I met in 2014, he was about a year old then.
My landlord Doyle Howard adopted him thinking we were going to be a couple, I was his renter, and it pissed him off when I was totally ambivalent. He sent Nokky back to the Humane Society.
I came home and Nokky was gone, oddly, Doyle said I could have him. So to the shelter I went and brought him back. I didn't even think about this dog when I first knew him but he became my buddy.
He made it from Willmar, Minnesota to Superior Wisconsin, even lived through three semesters on UWS campus dorm almost a year at the Manning and eight months homeless.
All of this hard living is showing on both of us.
I will miss him when the day comes but for now we lounge in a one room shared commons and happy to be out of the truck this winter. Very happy.
Me I can always use makeup, Nokky's gray is showing as sure as the season will change and spring will be here soon.
