Turning 60 & sizing up leg veins

I have looked at my mother's legs my entire life, she had 'nice ankles', but did develop varicose veins as I grew up, I could see that which I hoped would never happen to me.

I worked many jobs for long hours on my feet. I have also worked many jobs for long hours sitting. I have spent many hours on the sidewalks, in the gym, going up and down hill on city streets, roads, and the treadmill in my bedroom.

I am working a job that causes me to be bruised due to the extensive lifting and movement of heavy packages, that said, it is also the reason I am losing weight and my legs are coming back into shape after many years sitting around study to complete my degrees, which I still have not accomplished yet, but the ankles, the ankles, the ankles -this is what my 500 lb mother said, "At least I have nice ankles!"

What did she mean by this, that certainly did become influential to me several years ago when my own ankles became swollen in front of my horror riddle eyes! But what I am looking at now is even more concerning, the swollen ankles did go down, but what about SPIDER VEINS! OH NO!!
