Varina Farms
Jamestown Colony, Virginia

The plantation, Varina Farm, established in 1612 by John Rolfe, of English origin, to grow a tobacco seed, Nicotiana tabacum named Orinoco, with seeds of questionable origin, however, consider of Spanish possession, a treasonable act to acquire, grow and create profit, and if caught, be put to death by the Spanish government, was soon established in the Virginia colony at Jamestown for sale and distribution in Europe.
